improper cam install?
i noticed whenever a topic comes up about broken crower cams, i always see people say "you probably installed the cams improperly." may i ask, what exactly goes wrong in a cam install in such a way that causes the camshafts to actually snap into pieces? the only thing i can think of is probably the valve springs
BTW i might as well squeeze this one in here too since my last post didn't get answered
my car's steering is less responsive when i turn to the left. i just had an alignment, but i remember the toe settings were set to 0 for one of the front wheels and like 0.1 degrees (i forgot whether it was in or out) for the other. does anyone know which wheel it might be? my guess is the left wheel is toe out 0.1 degrees and my right one is 0, but that is just a guess. on FF cars, do the front wheels automatically toe in or toe out when accelerating?

valve spring coil bind, valve retainer bottoming out against the head, and other areas that should be check for clearance before engine startup.
Also valve smacking the piston due to excessive lift or improper cam timng and causing the valve head to BREAK off dropping into the cylinder.
They ae called RACE cams for a reason.
