im just asking one last time because im paranoid....

am i screwed if i buy a car thats been sitting around for 5 years? im going to go buy it tonight. the guy says hes been running it and taking care of it (test drive was good)

 

It'll be alright. As mentioned before, change the fluids and the rubber items (belts, hoses, tires, etc) and be sure to give it a bit of a break in period before you beat on it.

 

do all the normal checks like compression and leakdown. Then I would look for rotted hoses, tires, wires and see if the oil and other fluids are clean.
