Ignitor interchangability

Will the internals of a distributor (namely the ignitor) from a OBD2 Civic DX fit in my 96-spec OBD2 Type R motor Distributor?? I need to replace my ignitor.

Thanks.

PS: does ignitor = ICM?

The internals should fit - make sure the dis plugs match up
