Default Identifying ecu's

Whats up guys. How can you tell the difference between an OBD1 GSR ecu and an OBD2 ecu? Are there any distinguishing numbers on the casing or anything like that. Im about to buy a 96 GSR motor and the guy says he has both ecu's. Just want to make sure he gives me the OBD1 ecu. Also does the OBD1 wiring harness hook up to the 96 motor or should i just keep the 96 harness and just get an adapter? Just want to make sure i get the right stuff to avoid headaches. Thanx alot guys. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
