I need a weight loss plan...
Heyy fellas.. Im running the "pro-am" classes this year (not all of them, just the local ones), I need to shed some weight on my car, already have gutted rear- no seats, plastics, spare etc. I also lost my A/C. I need to loose some more weight, but by obiding by the NHRA rules for the "AM" class. Which is no lexan, 2 front seats, dash, windsheild wipers, lights, and headliner. What should I go about now? Does anyone know how much the power antena, ABS, and power steering weigh? Any ideas or hints will help! Thanks
Loop your power steering and add a breather, then pull your power steering pump. It weighs about 10-15lbs
Get a lightweight battery, cf hood, you can get lighter fenders (though unfortunetly I think Z3 is the only style available). Racing seats are often lighter.

Lose the power steering, Carbon fiber everything u can, Lose the antenna with motor, rear wiper assembly, race seats, UR race crank pulley, lightweight wheels, scrap all the extra tar and sounddeading in ur ride, lightweight control arms, any unsprung weight u can think of

do you need the wipers in teh rear too? u can take those off... and will they check to see if you have wiper fluid? if not u can take off teh wiper fluid resrvoir or empty it half way. you can get rid of hte armrest compartment entirely or replace it with the jdm ebrake cover. haha.. but is it really worht all this trouble?
I lost the rear wiper, my winsheild washers are actually rigged up to cool off my intercooler when i want (a nice little setup i made for the HOT summer days) ive already got the wheels, i have no center consule... I plan on ripping out the ducting for a/c, but i dont know if that would void the rules. I hafta check up on that one. Cause i know you have to have the oem dash, oem door pannels, oem windows (need to be capable of rolling down). But my next guess at loosing some more weight is the power steering. Can some one please clarify the idea that was listed earlier in this thread? Ive herd of something like this, swapping with an LS something or other --a nice description wouldd be awsome
Thanks for the help guys!
