Icon2 Hytech Header Identification

Not sure if this is the appropriate area to post this, but I was hoping you guys could help me identify this header and possibly tell me if it's worth anything?

Back Story: I bought a 1992 GS-R. Car had some pretty good parts on it including Koni Yellows and some other stuff. From what I gather while working on the car, it was originally owned by someone who knew what they were doing and spent the money to make a nice vehicle. Next jack wagon who owned it boosted the B17a, blew a hole in said B17a's piston, completely dicked up the wiring, and generally janked it up. I needed a car to build a track/race car out of and this one had a nice frame. The motor that came in it was a B18B1. It ran like dook. This is why I attest the header to being a bit dirty.

For my goals, I don't think I need a header of this sort. I'll be road racing with a B20 and this might not be the best choice for me. There is a dent in the bottom of the hytech as well.

Thoughts?

Thanks gentlemen!

Not particularly concerned about it getting banged up or whether it has rust. I haven't driven the car in the 6 months Ive owned it. Also, it doesn't have much of any rust. It's got years on it, but doesn't look as worn as other hytechs I've seen pop up.

Just making sure I'm not banging up some rare piece that would be worth something to someone else. more or less worried about whether it's suitable to my application (b20 p8r) or whether I should swap it out for something that's easily replaceable like a plm header. It's strictly a track car, thus it will be abused accordingly.

Header pictured above doesn't look like a real Hytech Header. The plate where the manifold mounts to the head isn't cut correctly. I see what appears to be a logo engraved on the flange between the second and third primaries, but not sure what it says. Take a shot of the collector flange where it mounts to your cat/test pipe. Also, you should see a Hytech plate welded near the o2 bung of the header.

I compared it to this one and it looks very similar. I don't see any plates on the one in the FS thread and I don't think that mine has a plate on the bottom of it. I'll take a shot of the logo up close, it does say Hytech. I didn't know if any of the reproductions came with that or not. Regardless, I'll snap some more pictures on Wednesday when I make it to the garage again.

If it's real, I'd rather get it out of my hands along with my RS-R ExMag. The car doesn't need cool/rare/jdm/whatever parts on the race track.

Maybe the first gen ones did look like the one in your possession. The one I previously had a mounting plate that was shaped differently and had a plaque welded near the o2 bung. I suppose as long as the hytech logo is engraved in between the primaries, it should be authentic. I dont think any of the replicas went as far as engraving the logo on it.

Do you still have the RS-R ExMag exhaust? If so, I'm interested.

I own two HyTech headers, both built by Jon Grudinski to my specifications (so they are not a production/jig product that they reproduce)... and neither one has a badge/plate as pictured above. Both were built around 2001. They do have the etched "HyTech" logo on the flange between the #2 and #3 primaries as the OP has.

The mass produced Hytech headers will have the plaque welded on the end of the manifold near the collector flange. Your header wont have the plaque if it was a one-off spin.
