Hyper Blinkers
My driver side bumper light is blinking fast, and it's getting annoying. I checked all the bulbs and everything is fine. I switched it with the passenger side, and yet only the driver side is blinking fast. I'm guessing there's something wrong with the wiring. Any way I can pin point where the problem is? Any help would be great. Thanks
mine was doing that too. um, i checked the bulb....it lit up fine, but when i moved it to the other side (the side that was blinking fine), then that side became the hyper blinker. get new bulbs, i believe they're 1157's. cost you $3. try those out. if they still blink crazy, check your fuse then the blinker relay (it's the black box next to the blinker fuse) under your dash. hope this helps.
Yeah, I already checked both bulbs and they are both fine. Like I said, I took the two bulbs on the driver side and put it on the passenger side. Then it worked fine. Everything lit up fine. I think I'll check the fuse. Thanks.

I checked the fuse under the dash and it's fine. I don't see any black box you are talking about though. Any help??

If it was a bad fuse they wouldn't work at all because power goes through them first then out to the lights. Somewhere along the line there isnt enough resistance which would cause the light to blink fast. I would check your wiring. Good luck with that...
Check all your connections, that your cars way of telling you that there is something wrong on that side...replace bulbs, rear and front blinkers... then make sure that it's making good contact at the socket...

Thanks, I already checked all the bulbs and switched them around with the side that blinks fine. I really think that the wiring is wrong somewhere. Let me explain when it first started to blink fast. When I did my 98 front conversion, I didn't have the front bumper lights yet, so what I did was left the two light sockets just hanging inside and I guess the smaller light bulb bunrt a hole through the plastic mud guards. So then I took it out and that's when it started blinking fast. After changing that bulb, it started acting all weird and sometimes it would blink fast and sometimes would blink normal. I really think it has to do with wiring. I hate checking for wiring problems. Thanks guys.

theres a black box under the driver side dash. its the blinker switch (i forgot what they are technically called) but they go bad and cause fast blinking. take it out and take it to pepboys they are like 10 bucks. gluck
edit: blinker rely! ill try to get a pic when i get home or something if you still cant find it

Thanks, I took a look and I really can't identify which one it is. If possible, can you get me a pic?

hyper blinker usually means a burned or bulb (front, back, left, right) a burned fuse witch the fuse box is located under the driver side dash ( get a flash light to check if any are broken) if all else fails then u have a bad ground wire. i had that on my 95 civic on like urs it was only on one side...take ur corners out and check the black wire (theres three: red=battery, black=ground, the other color is the one that makes it blink) try finding if there is a break in the wire or try wiggling the wire while the blinker is on
hope this helps

i just remembered...the socket might be worn out too! so check ur socket ..get a small flat head screwdriver and open the metal pieces out more to make a better connection
