using adjustable shocks up front, with non-adjustables in the rear.

it's not exactly ideal, but I wouldn't say it's unsafe. Trick is that your shocks need to be able to dampen whatever your springs, that's where it could get unsafe.

I've heard of someone doing this before and they didn't say anything about having disasterous results. But, I do remember them getting adjustables for the rear pretty soon after. Performance reasons I'm sure.
