i just cleaned the garage and found 2 half moon thrust washers. i just rebuilt my motor and know i put 2 halfs in it. i wanna know if i was supposed to put 2 more in the girdle? i can't find any information on this specific question.. how many thrust washers does a gsr call for total? 2 pairs 4halfs or just one pair 2 halfs?

 

It requires 1 set (2) they go on the block side, girdle holds them in.

 

Correct. I just finished putting my LS together last week. they go in by the #4 main-cap I believe. (don't quote me on the # main cap..... Im almost positive though)

 

it is number 4 main cap. i got my motor together, i knew i put 2 in it. on on each side with the grooves facing out. but i was searching the garage and found 2 more, i thought maybe i was supposed to put those in the girdle :/ what a relief...


must have been the ones that came out.

you didn't roll the crank with them in there and no girdle on it? they can easily fall out if the you had the girdle off and just the two end mains holding the crank in.

 

i prob. did but when i went to put the main cap on they were in there where they were supposed to be. the crank actually fits very snug in there and there isn't a whole lot of room for them to fall out. but yea, thanks, there in there.
