How to install hatch?
I have a 94 Ls coupe and I fixed all the rust on my car, which was a lot. Put on a type r replica spoiler and painted my car white, car was starting to look nice. But then somebody decided to smash my rear window while I was at work, I only got to drive it for five days before this happend. WTF, I wasn't **** at first until I found out how much time it took to clean all the glass, haters. But yea two days before I finally painted my car someone decided to steal my license plate sticker while I was at work. So I bought a new hatch, which was red, and I took out my old one, but I can't get the new one in. I got two bolts to go into the hatch but can't get the other two to go in. We kind of bent the metal brackets where the bolts goes through to attach to the hatch. So yea tried for like two hrs sunday and another hour yesterday still couldn't get the other ones in. I decided to tighten up the two that were already in and yea when I went to push up on the hatch the glass broke. What a waste of money!
But yea anyone have any advise on easier ways to install the new hatch? Another question though, I just replaced my shocks and kept my stock springs, didn't want a rough ride but it seems the rear has no shock absorbtion at all. I kind of tighten the nut for the cap that goes on top of the shock a little tight and so I was thinking that may have compressed the springs too much, because now even though I loosened the nut the spring doesn't push back up, there's just a gap there. Or I took all the springs off and sandblasted them and painted them and when I went to put them back on I put the longer springs on the back and shorter on the front and when I dropped the car the front just collapse to the ground maybe that messed up the springs? I had to redo it but my point is could the rough ride in the back have caused my rear window to break the first time or do I just have a hater at work. Anyone with any suggestions, thoughts? SORRY FOR THE LONG POST. FLAME IF YOU LIKE.

regardless of how the heck your glass broke, you need to have a buddy help you hold the hatch while you loosely thread one bolt on one side. have your buddy do another on the other side so it lines up and finish tightening the rest. if your brackets are bent your gonna have to carefully straighten them back out.
and put your springs in the right way, maybe even match your new shocks with new springs and install them correctly. you should be fine.

What bolts are you guys talking about...the easiest way to install a hatch is to:
1. Remove your passenger side rear panel in order to be able to unplug the wiper/rear defroster plug first.
2. Under the rear part of the headliner you will find 4 10mm nuts holding the hatch hinges (and attched hatch) to the body. Remove these 4 nuts, and leave 2 just a few threads on so you can do the next step.
3. Remove the hatch struts and have someone hold the hatch for you so you can now undo the 2 nuts you left the rest of the way.
The wiring will need to be pulled carefully through the opening which I believe is in the upper passenger side corner of the car (where the hatch normally would cover). After this you should be good to remove the hatch and reinstall the new hatch in an opposite manner. Good luck!

Also with the spring/shock issue, the "thicker" springs should be on the front, and the thinner coiled springs on the rear. I find it hard to believe that the rear window would've broke from bad suspension, but stranger things have happened!
Thanks for the replies guys. Yea the brackets are bent and I didn't bother straightening them back which is probably why it was a pain to get the other two bolts in. And yea I had my brother help hold up the hatch for me, I know it's heavy as hell. But about the nuts thing, I was thinking about doing it that way but how hard is it to get under the headliner? It seemed like it would mess up the headliner so I didn't bother with it. About the wires I had everything installed though. Now I have to go pick up another hatch tomorrow. THANKS AGAIN THOUGH. HONDA-TECH SO HELPFUL.

It's not hard at all...I am telling you, you are doing it the hard way...you have to be gentle when taking the back part of the headliner down, but it is not hard, I promise! Just look at it a little closer!
