how to fix damaged thread?
When I installed my JDM header, I overtightened one of the bolts that hold the lower support bracket for the header. The bolt kept turning without getting tighter so I removed it and noticed that I stripped the thread on the engine block where the bolts goes. How do I fix that?
Just edit and save your changes
I recommend using a tap. Tap new threads, use a heli-coil or some other threaded insert, and viola, use the old bolt to secure the bracket.

I am a lil ignorant on this. What does a tap do exactly? Also, the space under there is pretty limited so I am not sure it will work!

Go to a hardware store and ask for a Heli Coil kit. Bring the bolt to match up to the correct size Heli Coil. You tap out the hole and install a "thread" like deal into the hole and it'll allow you to use the same size bolt as before. It comes with everything you need in one small kit. I've used it in Aluminum and steel blocks. It works great! Good luck!
