Icon3 Hood gap problem

Okay, so the other day I decided to remove my rubber weatherstrip that sat at the bottom of my hood. (Between the front bumper and hood). Now, there is a slight gap about an inch or so. What do I have to do to get rid of that? Can I just remount the hood or will that be useless? DOES THE WEATHER STRIP HAVE TO BE THERE?
Here's a picture of the weatherstrip I'm talking about (not my integra):
ITS THE BLACK THING AT THE TIP OF THE HOOD, OBVIOUSLY

dont remove it its there for a reason dirt will fly in there ect.. if you really want the gap fixed when you pop the hood theres two black rubber **** one on each side that look like small bump stops for the hood you can twist to adjust the hieght.

You can do this to a point, but it also has to match with the fender height or it will look silly. To the Op...I find it hard to believe that you removed that rubber piece and then you developed the gap. Just removing that piece will not magically make your hood have a larger gap. I believe your problem lies deeper. Good luck!

It will cause a gap!, i took my rubber linner out for a few days to let the paint cure on a cf hood that i painted, i hated the gap, it looks like when your fenders dont line up cause of poor instalation and it looks ugly!

happy 420. i say you drill out your hood mounts. the hinges im talking about. Make the hole where the bolt goes, longer, toward the bumper. Then bolt on your hood however far the drilled out hinge will let you. i know a guy who did this to a 240sx and turned out pretty decent.

keep it in, looks much better with it vs. w/o it. Why would you want to remove it anyway?
