Default here are my plans...help me make changes, add/remove things???

alright, before i start amassing parts i decided to try and make a good list and check with you guys so that i dont do anything stupid....i already have the basic bolt ons (suspension, intake, headers, exhaust, test pipe)...but i am now looking for more...i have a 99 TEG with a SI block and GSR head right now i am at 10.4:1 compression...

here are the plans for the next couple months...

1. ITR/CTR cams, springs, adjustable Cam gears
2. Skunk2 IM
3. Send my GSR TB out to be matched and tapered to the new IM
4. Spraying 55 from a ZEX kit
5. Thinking about Mugen head gasket to bring compression up to 10.8:1

this is the plans for now, my question is...do i need anything else???...should i do anything to the fuel setup such as adding a walbro, rail or injectors or anything???

i need a reliable car that i can still take to the track and run 13's in...i have been doing research for over a month now trying to setup a plan and this is the best that i can come up with...

any suggestions???

I would get a GSR block before anything else.

i knew you guys would say that...but that is not an option, i dont have the means to do such a swap...

not only do i not have the equipment to do it, i cant afford to pay someone else to do it...

plus, if i switch the block i will have no money left over whatsoever and i will be left with a stock GSR...

if i work with what i have i can mod and tune this setup and end up with a quicker car than if i just switched the block

Whatever. In that case, your original plan sounds good. Good luck with it.

Ok, that is understandable. However, the extra displacement by the B18C block will GREATLY raise your displacement.

You do not need to spend the money on a MUGEN or SPOON headgasket. THE OEM headgasket is 3 layers and can easily be seperated into... 3 sperate layers.

You need to have your block and head inspected before you run ANY sort of 1 layer head gasket.

WHY? The smallest/ mianute area on the block or head will create gaps on the headgasket. You will not get a good torque setting on it, and you'll fry your motor.

However, if your block is PERFECTLY flat, a 1 layer headgasket will pretty seriously raise your compression for the that little money.

If you are desperatly set on running a 1 layer headgasket. And you have it inspected by a machine shop and they tell you that they must mill your block to achive a perfect surface.

If you ever plan to run any sort of high compression pistons and Agressive cams, the piston to deck ratio will be too small, and the pistons will smash into the valves.

The Zex kit is crap. Dont get it.

Get the NOS GSR Plate kit from Holley. It's 100000 X better and you'll be able to spray about a 50-70 shot all day long. It's about the same price as a Brand New zex kit.

Other than that. You should be fine.
