Default help on purchasing a GS-R

I've been a Nissan guy for a while, and have owned a 94 Sentra and a 97 Maxima, both with speeds. I'm currently looking to get a new car. I was looking at insurance on different SR20 type Sentras (96 200SX SE-R, 92 SE-R) and I figured "what the hell, I'll look at some Hondas...". I've always liked Integras and a good friend of mine has a 95 Integra LS w/ a JDM B20 and a bunch of other stuff. Low and behold one of the cheapests cars (cars that I was looking at) for me to insure was an Integra GS-R hatchback. A Del Sol was cheaper but I've always had a thing for Integras. So here comes my question, or questions.

What year 3rd gen Integra is the best to start with? I've been looking at 96s, though I like the 98 front end a bit better.

My Maxima ran 14.9 in like 100+ degree weather, fairly higher than sea level. The other night it crept away from a stock WRX. So it was fairly peppy. I'm curious as to what mods on a GS-R would be the best to start with (bang for the buck value) to get it moving quciker than my old Maxima. My goal for now, is to get into the low 14s, but since I'm realatively new to the B18C1 and the giant aftermarket surrounding it, I figured I'd ask here first, because I don't really know where else to look.

sorry for the noob question, but any advice would be great.

just to let you kno theives love gsr's (hopefully you have a garage to put one in).. But with bolt ons & a good driver you should be in the 14s. Your choice on the years, they're all basically the same besides looks. 94-96 have obd1 ecu (correct me if i'm wrong) and 97+ have obd2 ecu.

if you wanna get a lil more bang for yer buck...start off with i/h/e, and put yer car on a diet. then i guess you gotta decide from there if you wanna go turbo or stick with N/A.

^~~~i totally agree with ~~~~^ ...when you get yers, make sure youve got security up the ying-yang and keep it garaged. (mine was stolen off my driveway infront of my house)...but other than that, Good Luck & have fun with yer car!

Beware though the gsr will just be getting into the torque band when your maxima was redlining i assume just over 6000 rpm... if you crave low end at all youd better be doin some hefty mods cuz i learned the hard way when i got my gsr, that i shoulda got somethin differnt, you have to really rev the hell outta the b18c1 to get any torque out of it, just a warning but drive one as much as possible before you decide and also try out the ls as well...

To get a gsr to run that time you probably want to go F/I, but if you are going to turbo a gsr you might as well turbo the LS plus it will attract less attention from theives, and get you cheaper insurance. Search the integra forum because your question is not uncommon, the answers are out there

Don't mean to jack your thread but I am in the market for a DC also, now that I just sold my EG..

What is the average going price for a 95 4 door GSR.. (private and dealer)

I would like to know so when I am talking to the seller they won't rape me on the price.
