Default help please!!

when ever i shift into 5th gear it grinds no matter what i do.... how do i stop it from gettin worst??? rebuild trans?? only happens when im going over 50 mph. is my 5th gear worn???

car is an gsr 99

Synchro is probably gone. Also the dog teeth on the gear might be worn.

You could also have a bent shift fork. But it's most likely the synchro.

Well you are in LA, so I would suggest taking it to gear-speed and have the whole thing rebuilt. They do good work.
