Default HELP!!!! Please~Check Engine Light

driving a 1998 integra GSR 3dr

OK so i hate philadelphia and our shitty roads. Well i was behind a salt truck in a ONE lane zone today. he kicked up a huge piece of debris flinging in front of my car. Being one lane with two cement barriers on each side i couldnt swerve. But my car being lowered hit the debris and i dragged it for about 30 yds at 30mph. As soon as the truck moved i hit the gas and put into 3rd. As i did that my CHECK ENGINE LIGHT came on. Now there is nothing rattling, no engine knock or funny noises. I toook it tho to the Douche bags at pep boys and they said there was no damage but they cannot check my light cuz there sensor is "broken" loosly traslated (im fat and lazy life plus its lunch time). SO i went to STS right donw the street. I didnt have any $$ on me and their test cost $90. But he did ask if the light was blinking or steady.

The light is steady and not blinking which they said "shouldnt be a problem. ITs when it blinks is when there is an issue and to get it serviced asap."

It starts fine so far when the motor is turned on and off. I started it 3 times at pepboys and once at sts.

No engine knock or banging or pinging.

The light seems to brighten and darken with vibrations of the car, almost like a loose light bulb. BUT i dont want to assume that its just that.

NO loss of power

What should i do!!!!!

take it to the.. *gasp* dealer? You keep going to these random shops that don't seem to want to help and offer half *** advice. If you fear driving it go get it looked at by those that work on your type of car all the time and have the correct machines to diagnose the problem or are willing to atleast have a look and offer advice.

Default Re: (Rikter)

jump the obd and get the code

1. find where they would plug into your obd (should be two wires leading to a plug).
2. Take a paper clip and run a short. (one end of the clip in one hole and the other end of the clip in the other hole).

3. Turn your key to on.

4. Watch you engine light. It will stay on for bout a second, then start flashing. count all the flashes after the light holds for a second. (If you leave the clip in it will repeat one second light then flash.)

5. Thats your code. I dont know wat obd you have but i know that if you search youll find wat each code number translates to. (i have pesonaly posted the codes for obd1)
