Default help me with my reverse light solution...

help..my reverse light is out.
its been out ever since swapping auto to manual tranny.
Anyone know where or what the problem is.
I'm taking my car this week to a mechanic for VA state inspection.
his must be in working order before passing the inspection...sigh

If anyone can tell me whats wrong so that I can mention it when i'm at the shop.
Also If anyone could tell me where i could go to fix it. Dealer? mechanic shop? performance shop?
thanks

tape 2 flashlights to the car and turn them on when the guy shifts into reverse.

Well, I assume you tried the easy solution of checking your bulbs, right?

Anyway, look at your tranny. Do you know where the little reverse light "actuator" button type deal is? There should be a small wire harness coming out of it. It's capped on the tranny side. Do you even have that connected? Check that out.

Well mine were out as well...you might wanna check the switch...I can't remember off the top of my head the procedure....but there is a switch on the tranny case. The Problem with mine was my tranny fluid was really old and dirty. Replace it all with OEM MTF...that fixed mine... goodluck.
