Default help me diagnose a possible problem

i was recently cleaning out my engine bay, and a noticed a little oil on my block. It looks like it was coming from where the head meets the block. I immediately thought headgasket, but with headgaskets you usually get overheating, and my car is not. My gsr only has 72k miles on it, and its only been beat on a few times. Any other things it could be?

SOUNDS TO me like the ol cam seal leak. if it is coming from the passenger side of the engine follow the oil up the head and see if it is oozing out of the lil rubber seal on the Upper head before the distributor. my car had a nasty oil leak and i could have sworn it was a headgasket, but after i cleaned the area and found out where it was coming from i was glad to find out that it was just a simple fix.

that looks about right, on the passenger side of the engine. Can a cam seal be replaced by me fairly easily?

DON'T WASTE YOUR LOOT ON THE aftermarket. honda re-designed teh cam seal to have more resistance to heat and seal better. even the aftermarket ones will have to be puled and the o rings replaced. Nothing last forever. and if i were to make the decision between a 10 oem part vs a 40 dollar aftermarket part. you could bet the farm i would go with oem. no reason not to(in most cases this is true)

Also don't forget to check the distributor o-ring. They tend to harden and leak, in the same area. I have heard that the 94- integra cam plug uses o-rings while the 90-93 is just one piece.

so my question is once it does leak, because it will as all rubber will break down over time. where do you find the o rings, how much do they cost and are tehya common size to find in case the manufacturer is out.?

if properly lubricated with install, there is a very small chance that the o-rings will begin to leak before the engine dies...

If it does happen - I'm sure GE will supply you with orings - otherwise ou can find them anywhere...
