Help! Ground Control coilover won't adjust.
I have ground control coilovers on my integra. For some reason the front driver's side spring won't adjust. The spring is stuck or seized on the sleeve. It won't move or twist anymore....... I have used pb blaster and wd in hope that it's just rust, but to no avail. I have tried hitting it, but it won't move. Any ideas on what it may be and how I can fix it??
have you tried loosening the locking screw? i got GCs for my GS-R, you just loosen the locking screw and adjust, then lock the screw tight so the springs wont jus drop.
How high are your coils spun up already? When I had GCs at the lowest setting the spring could just be moved around with my hand when the load was removed, but when the spring was at a higher setting I would have to put some force down on the rotor to allow for some more spring play.
there is about a half-inch wheel gap between fender and tire, but the spring is spun up about 60%.
I should have put some anti-sieze on it a long time ago.

theres prob little pebbles and **** in there, id try to pressure spray them and jiggle em and stuff, i know it sounds dumb , but thats what you deal with with coiloevers on a daily driven car. it happens we deal with it .

no it's not preloaded.
yeah these things fill up with crap. I would not anti-seize simply because it attracts more dirt...as part of GC maintenance you should run then up and down every month or so.
just keep working at it. I wouldn't hammer for fear of ruining the soft aluminum.

get some thick gloves and a buddy to stand on your rotor hub to fully extend the strut. while he's doing that, grab the threaded sleeve with one hand and the collar with the other, and twist....
