Help getting a first car.
Hey people on Honda-Tech. I've just been introduced to the art of car modding and the various aspects as modding such as HellaFlush or Simply Clean. I'm also planning to buy a used a 2000 or 2001 Acura Integra GSR or Acura Integra Type R 2001
. As I am a college student, I need a car that is able to be modded within a cheap budget, yet look legit as hell. Hopefully I can get some advice from you guys as to what to get for the Integra, or as to any other suggestions to other cars. My maximum budget is $7000 USD. If anyone lives in the DMV region and wants to sell a clean car, hit me up.

An ITR would be nice, but it may be a bit out of the op's $7000 max budget. For that reason, I'm gonna go ahead and suggest a GSR. You can get a nice GSR and have a little extra money left over for some minor mods with that budget.
depends on what you need.
with a 7000 budget, i suggest you just pick up a LS and use the extra money to make it how you want it.
a lot of these cars that you see that are "hella flush" isnt even capable to using the speed they built their motors for...so if you go that route, its pointless to have a GSR if your car is gunna be too low to even enjoy the ride and speed of it

Type r is a little out of ur budget dude, especially for a 2000 or a 2001, even with high milage it won't be that cheap so just forget that alltogether. Just go with a gsr, comes with 180hp stock, and is easily moded to get more and look nice too. Its always better to go under your budget and have more money left to do mods. Besides a gsr come with a sun roof and stock leather if you get 99-01 model
. Lol type r's are nice but too much dude.

For the price of a type r, you can buy a decent ls integra or swapped civic and turbo it. You will have 250-300 whp for the same price as your 200-hp ITR. Or check out the vehicle for sale thread in the marketplace forum. You can pick up a clean car with plenty of mods for fairly cheap.

to be honest w/ you bro... 7k get yourself a GSR and just use left over for what you can mod... K series swaps are pretty expensive. wont really have anything left in budget to make car look clean by time your done. no point wasting a gsr motor either imo just to swap w/ a k series if your on budget. If you have the money layin around to do so and can afford a 2nd ride to pop it into by all means, but obviously 7k wont get u that.
Why don't you just buy a complete rolling shell, clean, for cheap, and swap the K-series in right off the bat. And if your into the whole "Hella Flush", there's no point in pushing 300whp cause the stupid stretched wheels with -5 camber and 2" of rim bead sticking out, your gonna kill yourself.
If you insist on having an integra, go with a GSR. ITRs are too expensive and are stolen all the time. GSRs are a great bang for you buck, and you can get decent power out of simple mods. Also, there are tons of options as far as appearance and cosmetics. A GSR is also a great starting platform for the K-swap you're planning to do in the future. The ITR guys would have a stroke if you drop a K into a real Type R... those cars hold their value, generally speaking, based on how stock/well-mainted/tastefully modded they are.
My first Integra was a GSR... I now have a k-swapped Integra
