Default Help!! Car shakes while driving!!!

All of a sudden today, my car started shaking pretty violently. It had never done this before, I was driving up hill and it just randomly started shaking like crazy as I was going up. I can rev the engine easily and it doesn't shake at idle.

However after class I noticed that when I had my foot OFF the throttle in 4th and 5th gears, sometimes 3rd, it would shake as if I was depriving it of something. The idle was staying constant with no issues. When I stepped on a throttle just a bit, the shaking would go down and go away but once I let it off again, it started it again. When I drop my car into nuetral and coast it though, nothing happens, it runs smooth and as if nothing happened.

What could be the issue?!!? I really need some help thanks

either your motor mounts are going bad or your alignment is way off

Would there be a way to check the motor mounts? Because visually they looked fine. I guess I could try getting an alignment.

If the motor mounts are fine then you need an alignment

Just to check though, how would an alignment issue just randomly come about like this? I mean I was driving, then POOF, it started happening.

Maybe some bolt in your suspension set up came loose. I'd say take it to a shop and have them go over it.

I'm going to check it out first because the tools I have, pretty much but if I can't figure it out after tomorrow I'll have a shop take care of it for me.

check out your suspension, and if you can look closely at the motor mounts, then if everything checks out try alignment

Well apparently it seems as though one of my oil rings is bad and so I'm either looking into a rebuild or another engine swap. Would you guys happen to know if it would be cheaper to rebuild my B18B or just buy another B18B used or B16A used. This is apparently whats causing the issue. It can occur at any RPM. If I rebuild the engine I don't want to do anything crazy, just an OEM build. Keep in mind this is my DD.

I would say just buy another long block. Here they can be had for around $500, i think a rebuild will be much more than that...

buy a shortblock, and put what you want in it while the motor in your car is still drivable, then when you pull it out, put your new one in..... then you can rebuild your old one if you want.....
