Default help with broken axle!

can someone help me. i had to change my axle because the CV boot ripped. as i was removing my axle, it broke apart. i got the axle out but the rear part is still stuck in my tranny/intermediate shalf??? i tried prying it out but it wouldnt move at all. is this normal that its stuck like that? and are there any techniques on removing the end of the axle. TIA!

try prying with 2 prybars(or long flat head screwdrivers) on either side equaly. no that is not normal for the boot to rip off like that. next time you have to replace an axle do not try to pull it out by the shaft.
you will have to pry on the face of the axel using the transmission for leverage. make sense?

Blah we did try both sides at the same time, it won't budge. We did pry it using the tranny for leverage too.

the boot was already ripped, so when i pulled the axle out by the shaft it came right off and some bearings fell out. prying wont work. any other ideas?

Like everyone said use a prybar.

It should pop right now.

EDIT: Why won't prying work?
