Hello
Whats up everyone. I am a newbie so if you guys want to make fun and everything go for it I'm ready for it. I am still pretty new in this so I hope this site will help. I have a problem and I hope it can be fixed. I have a rare car that needs a part and I don't want to pay $280 for it. It is a 1993 acura integra GS-R with a b17 motor. My car is reving for 1000 to 2000 by itself and it will not stop. From what I hear it is the the IACV. It actually melted. Does anyone have one that I can buy from them?

Are you sure it melted? IACVs are made out of metal, so you might want to see if you can repair it/clean it first, using this thread on g2ic.com

If you can't, wait a couple weeks for your trial user status to be over so that you can buy one from the classifieds forum either here on H-T or on g2ic.com. You should be able to get an IACV from a b16a or an old d15 crx hf. Other IACVs may work as well, but I have heard those 2 will bolt up. You might also try http://www.acuraparts247.com or ebay. You should be able to get one for $40 or so.

Well I took the piece off and saw that it is melted inside one of the holes. I actually used a small piece of cardboard to fix it. I made sure it was bigger then the figure 8 on the iacv and then punctured two small holes where the holes on the iacv where. The one on the side with the screen did not really matter in size. But the other depended on how much of and idle I wanted. The bigger the hole, the bigger the idle. So now it sits at about a grand. This idea worked welll I would definently suggest it.
