Default Headlight question

I put some Sylvania Silverstars in my teg recently. I like them a lot better than the stock bulbs, but the thing is that the light coming out doesnt fill up the whole headlight like the old ones did.
The light shining on the ground is fine, the way its supposed to be. But if you look at the headlights themselves, the bright part is only a vertical strip in the middle of the headlight. Something like this: ([]) where the ( ) is the headlight, and the [] is the bright part where you can see the light hitting the glass. IIRC, the old bulbs werent like this, the light filled up the entire round headlight.
So whats going on here? Is this normal? They seem to be in right, and they are working nicely, but the look of the headlights themselves just seems odd. I hope you guys understand what Im trying to say here, its kind of hard to explain without seeing it.
