I recently purchased an aftermarket McCulloch HID kit for my 90 integra. Although I am most impressed by the higher light output, I have quickly learned that optimal light output can only be achieved by HID projectors. However, I am not about to shell out $900+ dollars to have my headlamps retrofitted.

My question is, has anyone taken apart their headlamps and removed that metal thing in the middle? I want to know if the will increase the light output by removing it. Thanks
