Default Headers question

What is the difference between a Megan Racing 4-2-1 and a DC Sport 4-2-1? Is there much of a difference is power gain or are they pretty much the same?

you're not going to see alot of gain with DC. i havent seen Megan dynos yet but with DC my buddy only got 2 hp gain. megan has its own set of problems like fitment.

depends what your setup is...if your a daily driver with plans to just I/H/E then megan. just remember to get stainless steel.
headers arent going to give you much horse if you have a bad setup. so in that case you should consider an exhaust and hi-flo cat also.

is it that 91 in your sig? if your planning on swapping to a type-r motor then get a JDM type-r header. it has a 2.5" collector so just add a 2.5" exhaust and you'll be good.

if you buy a header right now with your current motor it will be a waste because it wont fit once you swap.

So instead of a header go for the custom exhaust? And which would be better to get, B18C or B18C ITR? Cause a complete B18C (GSR) is like 2-3k CAN and a B18C (ITR) is like 5-6k CAN and wouldnt be worth the $$$.

first off bro you need to get your motors right .
b18C1 = GSR....b18C5 = Type-R

yea u could say its worth it to get a type-r motor. i would say go for the engine if you have the money. exhaust and header can come later.

JDM GSR and TYPE R are both stamped b18C. Maybe YOU need to get your motors right.

who said the poster was talking about usdm motors?

He said b18c(itr) and b18c(gsr), meaning JDM ITR and JDM GSR motor. Whether thats what he meant or not, thats what it means. If you cant understand that then YOU still need to get your motors right before you act like a big shot.

well to get back to the original topic. Megan headers might not have a carb no., if thats important to you. otherwise DC has a better reputation for itself, in terms of quality and fitment. Although the DC ceramics have a tendency to crack after a few years, as opposed to the SS ones, which last longer. If it were me, I would get the DC one. After all, there both 4-2-1, anyways.

your going to want a header w/ a 2.5" collector for the best gains...

the itr motor comes w/ a 2.5" collector header stock and the tranny comes w/ lsd, so if your just doing I/H/E, get the ITR motor, if not just for the tranny

I'd go with the DC and use the money you saved on something else.

i've never heard of any fitment problems with megan. they're a great company.

this is not necessarily true. 2.5 can be too big for a mild setup, and take away hp and torque, particularly in the low end. so 2.25 or 60mm could definately be a better choice. also, only jdm itrs came with 2.5 collectors.
