Default headers

Okay wrecked my teg, thought it was totalled and bought a civic, gotta tell you this car sucks. Anyway, I will get my teg back at the beginning of May. Now that you all know my life history here are the questions.

Does it really matter what brand of headers you get? I mean don't they all perform the same way? Are we really only paying for the DC Sports or Mugen name or do they actually make the performance better? If all I'm going to do is a cold air intake, headers, and a cat-back exhaust, will it matter much about brand?

Anyone know of any other place besides kingmotorsports.com and jhpusa.com to buy a twin loop exhaust? I love the sound of Mugen exhausts, but the price is rediculous. Anyone know of any other options for a twin loop or would it just have to be a custom catback? Anybody selling one? Thanks.

I have a Mugen exhaust and I love the sound. At first I thought it was a little too quiet, but after getting headers and removing my cat. the sound is just as loud as I want it to be. For headers, I went with JDM 4-1. If I didn't get those, I probably would have gotten Comptech.

From the Dyno thread that is around somewhere... DC 4-1 is the best for your buck... comptech smsp and one other one were better by like 3 hp but they were 700 more.

The JDM DC 4-1 is good for the price but people dont get them because of ground clearance issues.

This may be a dumb question, but when you say JDM 4-1 DC Sports, is that the one for the Type-R. Also, which is better for the car, ceramic or steel? Thanks.

nope, itll fit your car as well. JDM DC headers just have a bigger collector - 2.5 inches instead of normal DC headers which are 2inch collectors

and because it has the 2.5 inch collector, it hangs very low, so ur going to have to watch out if your car is lowered

The DC JDM 4-1 has a 2.5" cat and will cause you to replace your cat. They make this header for all B-Series integras. Ceramic Coated will give you better performance but Stainless Steel will last much longer with almost identical gains. If I were you I would buy comptech, quality and performance. Plus you can keep your stock cat.

Depending on what you want to do, if money wasn't a issue i'd get a HyTech header!
