Default Header question

Im looking to get a header for my b18b1. my set up right now is a 3in cold air intake, xs power intake manifold, and 2.5 muffler piping with n1 tip. wondering what header will get me some decent power. not really going to go to extreme with this motor. so not looking to do any internals. so question is. WHAT HEADER WILL GET ME THE MOST POWER ON THIS SET UP. thanks for our time.

lmao. anyway, to the point in hand. the best header according to most is hytech. although, dc sports headers are also a good choice.

4-1 gives you a bigger gain at the high rpms. 4-2-1 is better for your midrange power. since you have a mostlys stock b18b i would look into a 4-2-1. If your not looking to do anything with your motor why get a header? BTW you will see more gains if you get a high flow cat.

yes, IMO 4-1 headers are good with non-vtec's... its all raw power since they dont have vtec.

dc headers are known to crack and are poor quality. had it in car. bad experience to say the least. get high flo cat. helps out a lot.

High-Flo cat will eliminate bottlenecking. magnaflo or thermal R&D has some for decent prices. since you dont wanna spend too much money on headers, dont even look at hytech. look at the hytech replicas, there going for around $300's brand new. And those eliminate the Catalytic converter completely so its gonna give you decent gains. but yoru car is gonna stink. so you choose.

4-2-1 is best for LS engines. especially mainly stock engines. just get a fake DC header from ebay...$50-$100

but headers are basically useless.. if u have a stock engine

gains arent worth the money

unless u throw 700 down for a header

but then those are illegal

so i stand by what i said minus the itr cam thing

How so? Because they are usually long tube and require the removal of the catalytic converter in its stock location? I hope if you have the money for a custom header, you can afford to modify your exhaust to accomodate a high flow cat (which some of the custom header builders offer as well as exhaust systems) in its new location. They are only illegal in California as none of them carry a CARB EO number.

Your bolt on stuff seems why to large for your stock LS, this will end up hurting your engine power more then helping it! But I would go with the DC 4-1 header that is a ITR replica.

the 4-1 JDM ITR replica is not a good match to a bolt on LS engine.
