Default Header question

hey i was wondering how long it would take to install headers, and also if you can pass smog with it. i have a i/e and was wondering if i should complete that with the whole i/h/e. my big question i guess is will i pass smog? thanks

it depends on what header you get. Might want to research a cat while you're at it. It took me about 2 hours to install a header the first time I did it. Just take your time. You should complete the system.

I can usually get a header installed in about twenty to thirty minutes with hand tools (fifteen with air tools) assuming there are no issues with stuck/broken fasteners or product fitment. Most beginners usually wrap up the project in about 2 hours as BlackSage noted.

Smog legality will first depend upon whether the header is CARB exempt. Most CARB exempt headers by themselves will pass the emissions test will no problems assuming the car is in good working order. The same can be said for intakes and exhausts, and you will naturally feel the greatest benefit from the header if it is complimented with additional airflow modifications.

CARB exemption is a certification and has no effect on the products performance.
