I'm working on cleaning up the engine compartment and wanted to refinish my heatshields, perhaps paint it black or gray.

Just wondering if anyone has ever removed and reinstalled the OEM heat shield. I hear the bolts get seized on from the heat.

Also if anyone can suggest a type of paint for this application.

Is that paint something i can pick up at my local pep boys or autozone?

 

undo the bolts and toss the shield in the trash.
