Default header fitment

i am currently doing a b18 to a jdm b16 swap...i had a DC 4-2-1 header installed originally and i assumed it would fit...now i am having clearance problems under the block and im afraid i may have to take it to a shop to have it custom installed, what are my options? can i double up on gaskets?

The clearance issues are due to the B18's taller deck height. I'd suggest purchasing a new header designed for the engine. Doubling gaskets is a band-aid fix, and won't provide much additional clearance anyway.

The JDM DC 4-1 will perform slightly better than the OEM Honda 4-1.

There is no best header. Except one that is specifically designed for your engine with the mods you have on it. That being said, generally a 4-1 moves the power curve to the right. Best for high performance applications or race car. Decreasing torque and gaining top end HP (not by much tho). While a 4-2-1 will give an increase in torque at the low rpms, and not that much of a high HP gain. better for a street DD car. Search there are many different options and dyno graphs to help.

I just read your post again, and you are swapping to a B16. In that case, you should not have any clearance issues with a B18 header. However, to answer your other question, the Toda Racing manifold is probably the best off-the-shelf header you'll find for the B16.
