Default Header on b18b

So when I first bought my car I got myself a nice CAI, then noticed its effects. A little later got an exhaust another nice boost in power. Then I got a dc 4-2-1 header and I really dont think it made it faster at all, it maybe felt a little slower. WTF?!?! I was wondering if this is not a good header for my car and if not what it??

I got the DC 4-1 headers for my car. I only really noticed a gain in the top end though(mainly 3rd and 4th). I never really heard anything about the 4-2-1 headers so I didnt go that route...but i'm selling mine, i just got my turbo

i have a dc 4-2-1 header and aem cai, but no exhaust yet. when i first had the header installed, i did not really feel anything. then after a while i feel it pulls harder after 3000rpm. I think the header has to be "broken in" or something. i like how it feels now. hope this helps

is your car an rs, ls, gsr, or type r? for gsr and type r i think you should go with the 4-1 headers for higher end power. 4-2-1 headers give you a better midrange.

oops sorry i didnt see the topic how it said you have a b18b heh. id say just stay with the 4-2-1 header and if you still dont feel any difference ask around for other people who have a b18b with dc 421 header. late

Ayup,

thats what you get.

I had a 94 LS with 98,000 miles on it and I installed the AEM/CAI. It was great, between the sound and the power difference I felt it was the best mod that I did to the car.

I then installed the DC SS 4-2-1 header and noticed EXACTLY what you explained; a little feel of loss down low and a little more up top. But, nothing staggering or as good as the intake alone.

Then I installed a Greddy EVO catback and felt that the car lost TQ but, gained a flatter feel along the RPM. I mean it felt linear instead of the TQ down low it felt even across the board. As well the sound was pleasant but, after time it became annoying especially on long trips at constant speed.

All were good choices but, in retrospect I think I would have chosen the same intake and header but, I'd have gotten the ITR catback for similar or better feel and minimal sound.

And as for the power loss I guess I should have more seriously considered FI for the LS.

Good luck,

A.
