Is this head gone!?
I'm posting this for my friend. He got into an accident and the car was totalled. He bought tehcar back from the insurance in hope to try to fix it. The accident also damaged the vavle cover and the broke a piece of the head. The part where the valve cover bolts into.
The motor is a '94 GSR b18c
Here are some pictures taken from his camera. The quality is poor, but this is all he can do. I hope this is enough. My question canyou replace this piece? as in will it unbolt? Any help would be appreciated.

Haha good to know. Time to hit up the junk yard, because you can't by that piece from the dealer.

You can't buy the cam caps because they are custom machined to the head. The cam caps are line bored on the head. Since the head uses no bearings for the cams, you cannot overbore to realign to a different cam cap.
You can roll the dice by swapping the cam cap. I recommend using plastigage to inspect the clearance with the cams.

It is part of the cam cap (which is indeed machined with the head from the factory), but the piece that is broken is one of 8 studs that hold the valve cover one....thus, you could run it as-is.
