Default head bolt question

why should i replace my old head bolts wat is wrong with them i am replaceing my head and am told to replace the bolts as well trying to find out y

They are designed to stretch when torqued. When removed and retorqued, they are not as strong as in the original installation..

Your stock head bolts stretch, and in order to reuse them proporly you have to measure how much they stretched so that you can get a new tourqe spec for them. And torque them down to the proper measurement. I wouldn't recommend doing that though. When I rebuilt my head on my GSR, I used Golden Eagle Head Studs, and those are reusable. Also, don't forget to replace your head gasket as well.
