Default Hate Misshifting!

Misshifted on the highway today. VAFC read 9997 RPM. I dont think i did any damage. Runs fine. At first I thought it sounded like it was ticking more under the hood. But I dont think iot is, im just being paranoid. It had a lumpy idle right after I did it. But now it runs fine and idles fine. Any suggestions? Or will my baby survive????? DAMMIT, LEARN TO DRIVE YOU NEW CAR BETTER.

ewwwwwww.......i would be very surprised if a 10K rev did no damage...especially to a stock head with some miles on it (since you have a 95 i'm thinking you''ve got at least 75-80K on your motor). But, you could be one of the lucky ones and come out with no damage. If you don't feel ANY power difference or notice any abnormal sounds, vibrations, etc than I would think that you are ok....just don't do it again

Take someone elses car to autozone and drop $25 on a compression tester. Do a compression test and see if you're still pulling decent numbers.

You might also want to do a valve adjustment just to be safe.

How many times have you misshifted now?? If it's more than twice, you need to slow down your shifts and take care of your baby.

Oh, and don't complain about having no money to do valve adjustments if you are going to rag on your car like that. If you beat on your car, it will show.

*ouch

I'd say if you do a compression test and the numbers aren't 200+ in al cylindars GET A LEAKDOWN TEST DONE!!!!!! It will show you exactly what is fucked up in the head, intake/exhaust valves/headgasket/and rings (doubt those got hurt that much if at all).

Dude don't be a bitch you gotta pay to play, especially if your gonna beat on your car on the freeway. Go get a valve adjustment, its not that expensive or hard to do if your a diy type of person.

There are multiple walkthroughs on how to do your own valve adjustment --- it would be a worthwhile thing to be familiar with.

valve adjustment is about $80 to $100 from the dealer.

Do you have short shifter? I still think short shifter is one of the worst mod anyone can do to their car.

Valve adjustment is not difficult just a little time consuming . If you arent a diy kinda guy then it shouldnt cost that much . Under $100 i would hope , thats just a guess because i do my own .

I dont have a short shifter. I just missed randomly, just didnt drop in right, from 3rd to 4th i went to second instead, which sucks cause it should be a straight drop, its one of the easiest shifts, i dont know what happened at all. i am deffinitely a DIY'er, and I might try it myself, im goin to VIP today to get a COMP tester, we will see how that goes.
