gsr problems

gsr problems
my gsr idles at about 500-700 when fully warmed up but most the time when i come to a complete stop it idles at 500 sometimes it seems like less. i dunno what could be the problem i cleaned out tb and the icav but it still idles the same could the radiator b a problem cause sometimes it leaks, also could the intake filter b the prob to. plz help.... oh yeah and my gsr eats oil. i mean after oil change and like 1500 miles or so later and the oil level drops to about half is this normal cause i notice that some cars oil level stays the same but just turns black. again any info would help.

first, is the check engine light on? and yes the coolant temp sensor and/or coolant level can cause a bad idle but if i remember right the idle bounces up and down not the way your describing it. so i have a habit that if the CEL isnt on and something seems funny about the car i will pull my ecu fuse to reset the computer have you tried that? about the oil, do you hit vtec often when driving cuz vtec kills oil ive noticed. usually around every 1500 miles i have to add a half a quart. hope any of this helps.

You can reset your idle.
Turn on car, let it warm up and come to it's usual idle.
Unplug IAC. Car may die or stutter. Turn the TB idle screw out a little bit and start the car back up.
Turn screw on TB till the car idles at around 500-600 or so RPM.
Plug IAC back in.
Turn car off.
Turn car back on.
Your car should idle at factory specs...around 600-800 or so RPM.
Turn on car, let it warm up and come to it's usual idle.
Unplug IAC. Car may die or stutter. Turn the TB idle screw out a little bit and start the car back up.
Turn screw on TB till the car idles at around 500-600 or so RPM.
Plug IAC back in.
Turn car off.
Turn car back on.
Your car should idle at factory specs...around 600-800 or so RPM.

Okay check you vacuum hoses. Eats oil? maybe worn out rings. and the idle, check you map sensor and the wires. i had a problem with my car at idle but fixed it. dont know if its the problem but something to look in to.

actually, when I had my vac leak, the engine would sputter and try to stall
