Default gsr problems

I was driving home tonight when my car starts acting up. The check engine light is on and my car when it reaches 4800-5000 rpms it skips like its hitting the rev-limiter..anyone have this prob. before?

specs on car- 98' gsr all stock, 105,000 miles

Pull the trouble code, then post your question. Answering this without the proper information is too difficult. We can all speculate. That is no help.

Check the code then look up the code number in the FAQ

Dont you have to change it al like 90-100k? Mayb thats your problem, also tell us what code your CEL is for

If it's the timing belt is off causing it not to rev high usually the car will be running super weak also.

Yeah that seems like a problem that would be very obvious and make it hard to even drive the car at all.
