Default Gsr block guard question

Like title states im building a gsr motor for boost and im thinking about getting a block guard for it. my question is what one is would be a better choice supertech or golden eagle? o also the motor is begin bored 20 over.

neither, blockguards alot of cooling issues when you use one. I'd rather sleeve the engine before I waste my money on a blockguard. besides a properly built and "tuned" gsr motor should boost easily to 400 whp and probably more (if the tuner is good) before you need to sleeve the motor.

when golden eagle was asked why they continue making block guard the response was because people keep buying them.

alright man...i cant afford sleeves right now but i was thinkin that could be a alternative. im just stuck if i should or not.

lol never heard that. im just thinking about shooting for 300 whp so i dont think i will need it but my buddy keeps telling me its a good idea

300whp on a stock bottom end is a dime a dozen nowadays. people have been doing that for years so the info is out there.

yea thats what i have been reading, the new bottom end consist of srp forged pistons and eagle h beam rods and that about it lol

Sounds like you should be golden then, just make absolute sure you get a good tune!!

As said don't get a block guard 300 has been done many times on completely stock motors let alone you have a forged set up. Just make sure you get a tune

Id tune with something other then crome. It seems to have alot of bugs and you wouldn't want to mess up your set up because of it. Id look into Neptune/ectune/hondata

One of my buddies have a Neptune demon rtp tuning pacakage bnib for 375 I might pick that up

You can make 300 on a stock block.... block guards are junk and will make hot spots
