Default Grounding Question

I know all the grounds im suppose to have (-) Battery to frame, tranny to frame (battery in the trunk separate ground), valve cover to frame, and lastly the wiring harness to thermostat housing.

Weird thing is the guy i bought the car from had another ground going from the back of the head (over cylinder #1's intake runner) to the frame of the car. Which also had a little wire spliced into the ground whichs goes to the ITR i/m itself (i guess grounding it, i don't know).

My question is do i really need that last ground i mentioned?? And will the little wire grounding to the i/m do anything (its just screwed in that little hole to the right of the IAT sensor)? Or can i just take out this ground (its like 2 gauge wire)??
