If it's only happening in one gear, it's probably your synchro. Time for a Type-R tranny.

Really great guys to deal with. Set-it up with a local shop or get a tax id number to have it like you are a business. I got my new tranny, 12 month 12K mile warranty for 1100.

Mines been doing it for a while now too. Its just kinda annoying.

You can have just the syncro is like $300 something. Then labor. I'd just wait till it dies then get a new tranny.

If you dont have the money to fix it now, just do what I do. My third gear grinds and all I do is when I am about to shift into third, I shift about a half inch into fourth then into third. That seems to line the gears up right and it doesnt grind after you do that. Try doing that and if it doesnt work the first time, try going into fourth a little further to see if that work.

yeah it is definately your syncros. cheaper to just get the syncro fixed but then the others may be almost worn as well so you are probly better off getting the whole problem fixed and replacing the whole tranny. other wise youll end up paying more every time another one goes out. also this may be a good time to get a type r with a lsd/

Type-r tranny not as good for ya if ya are gonan be drag racing and have a forced induction set-up.

PLus. From everything I have seen. a LSD can actually create more stress on your tranny. Yes you may launch better and all that but I would make sure you really need it.

I have an open diff and I pulled 1.9 60" on slicks. Friends I know have the LSD and were only pullin 1.85-1.95 on the same slicks.

Why would a type r tranny not be as good if you have forced induction? Would I be better off buying another GSR tranny or some other tranny if I am using forced induction??

i'm sorry, but if I had a turbo car, I would want <close> gear ratios to keep the engine spinning so I'd stay in the boost. turbo cars off boost=turbo lag

Couldn't hurt, plus it's cheap and easy to do.

Unbelieveable with all those immature talk about getting an ITR tranny. His GSR is 01, all he needs to do is take it back to the dealer and they will fix it for him.

Yup, I suggest you change the transmission fluid first. Used Honda MTF or Redline MTF.
