GM Synchromesh
Yesterday, I bought 3 quarts of GM Synchromesh (GM's manual transmission fluid)
It made a world of a difference for me. I had no real grinds or problems before, but I had been a pretty novice stick driver when I first bought my teg. I'm sure there were a lot of shavings and stuff in the old fluid..anyways, put in some fresh synchromesh, the transmission is smooth as butter now..shifts are all light, smooth, precise, effort free basically..not to say fresh honda MTF couldn't have done the same, but I'm pretty impressed with synchromesh. It was a little bit notchy getting into 3rd before nothing major, but that is completely gone now.
Bottom line: If you're having transmission problems, try changing your fluid!

$18 a quart in the most expensive city to live in the united states. Worth it though, as it cured my grinding 3rd that I was going to replace the tranny to get rid of. What part of Minneapolis do you live in Rubens - That is where I grew up

Redtail, I used to live in minnetonka back in 89-91. Then my family moved up to Duluth, MN. I've been going to school at the University of Minnesota, was in the dorms on the east bank last year, this summer/next year i'll be right by downtown on the west side of the campus

Try http://www.gmpartsdirect.com I got mine for about $6 a bottle plus about $7-8 shipping. (cost was about $24 total) Still way less than the $12.95/qt I was quoted at the dealership!!

eggrebrecht up in Duluth.
eggrebrecht up in Duluth.
i've tried it per mistubishi owners, i was changing out my drive axels anyway... did it make a noticeable difference for me? not really... it might have been because my fluid was changed out a year ago along with my motor. probably not worth the $9+ a quart if your tranny is still fine. honda genuine should be just as good imo.
