getting to the gsr shift boot....
ive got the armrest out, but does the climate controls, radio, ash tray, and cupholdes have to come out also just to get the the shift boot....it doesnt seem to budge and i dont see anymore screws......

ya .. its a pain theres alot of screws.. pop the ash tray out and take out the two screws holding that whole ashtray assembly.. then theres two screws under that ..and two on each side of the console you can see..oh and theres a couple of screws under and plate in the hand brake cutout area.. should be eight smaller screw and the large screws under the hand brake plate..

you don't need a day off, it is quite simple. Just a lot of screws and removing but it won't take that long.

When I did a clutch/flywheel swap, we had to remove the shifter. All I did was remove the armrest and trim piece below the radio which connects to the armrest piece, and it came out. Radio, climate controls, etc. all stay in. Your shifter isn't up there, it's down on the floor!
I painted the peice around the boot and their was 2 little damn screws underneath the front of that plastic peice, so all i did was bend it up and trimmed around them and it cam out, then i used super super glue and now its just fine....
