What do you hope to gain? Make sure that gas is not leaded because that will kill your O2 sensors and catalytic converter.

It would be nice to know what motor, and any mods you have done to it.

How is your post helpful?

I was making a valid point. How are we suppose to know what kind of gas he is suppose to use when he doesn't even tell us what kind of motor or mods he has. I guess you weren't intelligent enough to see it.

OMGGGGMOMGOMGOMG Then how about you tell us what kind of motor you have so we can help you.

You were? At best it could be construed as dull sarcasm, which conveys poorly in person and typically not at all in most written forms. If you were making a valid point, you would have directly asked about the engine. I guess you weren't intelligent enough to see that.

using bas better than your car is designed for does NOTHING. fuel does NOT make power.

higher octane fuel burns slower, allowing the engine to advance timing, and make more power without dammaging the engine.

so you wont make more power unless your car is tuned for the better fuel.

I think Sleeper GSR is confused that you weren't born with the extensive understanding of Honda engines that he and the other guys were.

It’s OK, really; I see that we're both Noobs in here (and thus, ricers), so here's a bit of helpful advice: A lot of Honda-tech users actually emerged from their mothers' wombs wielding torque wrenches and FSM's. Its a good chance C116 actually flowed from SleeperGSR's mom's nipples when he was in diapers, and St Jimmy probably converted a USDM EK Hatch to JDM specs as a 1st grade show-and-tell project -- before the car's design ever reached the Honda drawing boards!

Not only do these guys know everything about anything (Honda or not), they were actually born with that knowledge. They never had to ask questions as you or I do, or make mistakes along the way and learn from them -- they simple are perfect, and always were that way.

So you're in a bit of a conundrum here: as a Noob, you don't know anything, and are a ricer. And by having to ask a question of any kind, you are only showing these guys that you're not perfect (like they are), which prompts them to deliver advice like this -- eternally keeping you in the dark and ensuring you know less than they.

You should probably just give up. Sorry it didn't work out...

BTW

What Dogg and Blahblah said are spot on - There's really no need to go to higher-than-needed octane on a car that's not tuned for it... it won't offer any benefits by itself.

And most gases upwards of 110 octane - like C116 and Q116 - are leaded, and like Dogg said: definitely shouldn't be run in your street car.

If you ARE at the point of needing higher-than-normal octane fuels for an aggressive tune in your street car, you should be able to find 100 octane unleaded at a reasonable price. Depending on where you live, you might even be able to pump it at a gas station.

I think that should pretty much answer your question. If you have a GSR and the best "mod" you can list is plug wires and an intake, then VP Race gas isn't for you. Not to mention, it will murder your stock O2 sensor. All in all, unless your car is tuned to run it AND you have the parts to require it, there is absolutely no point.

If you really want to run race gas, you will have to re-tune your car to perform well.

Your car is set up to run 91` octane, and that's what you should run unless you get a tune
