Whats goin on guys. I'm tryin to sell my Neon to replace the 92 GSR i sold a couple years ago, i'm either gonna try to get another 92/93 or go for a 94-97 which do you guys prefer? Definitely gonna be a GSR either way just cant decide which generation i want. Thanks for any opinions

A 92-93 GSR will be very hard to find, especially in good condition. Personally I love the G2 (Okay, I own one so I'm biased) so if one came up I'd take it over a G3. But realistically, the G3 will probably be easier to find, in better condition, and it has more aftermarket (slightly).

g2's are nice but to hard to find in good condition. g3's are beautiful if done right, ie... kept clean.

i own a 93 teg, but if money isnt a factor, go with the g3. G3's are better in nearly every aspect. You will find a million g2 owners to tell u to go g2, but how many g3 owners will tell u to get a g2?

they are both very nice cars...... equally reliable and equally quick. The G3 however will be much easier to find, and easier to get aftermarket parts for.

Back to the original thread... i have learned about the shortcomings of the G3's through ownership and in reading on H-T and have fixed everything necessary. I love my G3 and would suggest getting one if youre in the market for these type of cars. G2's are great but the aftermarket stock for G3s i think outweigh the G2's mainly because they had a longer production run 94-01 and are more recent. Parts for a G2 are probably cheaper and would be an economical car to build up if you were into that as well.

Lots of factors to consider. Hope these comments help.

 

Thanks for all the replies guys. I'm starting to lean towards a G3, although I just found an Aztec Green Pearl 92 GSR 4/S same as the one I sold b4, if that falls thru I might start looking for 94/95s. Thanks again for the help guys. I'm sure as long as it's a Teg I'll be alright

DA GSR if you can find one. while there is a ton of aftermarket parts for the g3 there is NO shortage for the g2. with a 92-93 gsr you will have enough options to make your head spin.

drag turbo/hondata/bride/volk... not too much more needed

 

for your consideration, a g2 might be more insurance friendly... that would be more $$$ in the pocket each year for mods

I always hit my head on the hatch glass in the back of g3's. Not that it would matter to you since you're driving. In the back of a g2 I never have that problem. I think the g3 has a stiffer chasis. g2 looks nicer IMO.

go with g3 but make sure you get a 94/95, obd1 in the 94/95 will respond very nice to bolt ons. why get a 1.7 dohc vtec when for maybe another grand you can get 1.8 liter in a g3. the g2 does look nice but the g3 is an all around nicer car on interior and exterior. the inside of the g2 seems kinda cheap to me.
