Default Function 7 subframe brace

Hey guys,

i have a 96 gsr and i was planning on picking up a function 7 subframe brace for it. i was wondering if the tack welded nut in the back of the subframe needed to be knocked off in order to accomidate the brackets for the back of the brace? If any of you guys have had experience with this brace please let me know.

thanks in advance

Nope. I installed mine myself, took about 3 hrs (including the control arms) and was pretty much plug and play if you have all the necessary parts.

Few pics of my set up.

Trust me it looks way better in real time. Especially on silver!

You could always try to see if a set for another car could be compatible?

On my ASR they stated you needed to remove the OEM nuts welded on the backside, however I found it fit just fine without doing that. Given it added a little bit of difficulty to the install, I didnt like the idea of removing them.

If you have an Integra (or Civic for that matter) with the welded nuts in the subframe, you do not need to knock them out. Skip the backing plate and screw the supplied bolts into the corresponding nuts. You do not need the backing plate if the nuts are there.

I messaged Function 7 and they said only the lower control arms will fit your car not the brace.

Its the stock subframe, but no brace on it. Thats the purpose of the function 7 brace, it bolts right in when installed properly. And voila, you now have a brace to support and prevent subframe tearout. And no, it will not come off (the subframe)
