Default Fuel filter ?

I am doing a major tuneup on my 99 GS (70K) and had a question about the fuel filter...........should I replace it? Acura says it is a lifetime filter and does not need to be replaced, but I have also seen/read that it should be changed every 12-24 months depending on the type of fuel filter you buy.

Benefits: Enhance engine performance
- Extend engine life
- Improve fuel economy

What do you guys think?

Opinions?

By the way, the filter is like $35 (from the dealer) - if that makes a difference.

Yeah, replace it, it's only $19 at http://www.acuraparts247.com, or hit up username 'Len', he works at Barranco Acura (H-T sponsor) and should be able to get it for a similar price. The OEM one comes with all of the necessary washers, and it's really easy to do.

Don't cheap out on the filter. It already sounds like you are spending some good money and time on the tune up, so why skimp out on a $20 part.

Do it, cheap easy to replace, and something you dont have to worry about at a later date

I would definitely consider replacing it. I did my fuel filter at 74k miles.
