Default Front mud flaps

Soon I will be buying a particular set of springs which will lower my 96 integra SE 2 complete inches. I need to know if I will have to remove the front mud flaps or not. Will they touch the ground on normal road etc? Also, if I remove them, will there be a difference in the paint etc around that area, since it's always been covered by these mudflaps etc.

Thanks.

I lowered my car with Progress springs (2.3 inches) and took off my mudflaps. If you put the front ones on they wouldn't touch the ground, in fact, I recomend keeping the front and rear on.

2 inch = possible scaping

You are also going to hurt the performance of the car. CV-joints will be affected, camber wear and damaging shock effect. Note that daily driving would be going over bumps, potholes, and the surface's will not be even.

Paint = dont worry about, clean and wax

If you plan on doing any kind of hard turning, they will definitely scrape. No big deal though. Depending on how much you already shaved off, those mudflaps will be VERY close to the ground.

I'm lowered on H&R Sport (1.8/1.5). I don't know how much exactly it lowered the front of my car, but the mudflaps scraped EVERY speedbump, and sometimes would scrape the ground when going over a dip on the highway. I finally got fed up w/ it and yanked the front ones off. I kept my rear ones on for personal aesthetic reasons (to my eye they help complete the rear wheel arch since I don't have any kind of rear lip or valence). I can see a very slight line on my front fenders where the flaps used to be, but it's no big deal.

hmm possibe shock wear and hurt the performance i disagree if done correctly your car will handle better and look better, i'm lowered 2.25 inches comptech springs, koni yellows (adjustables) front camber kit and washers in the back got my alignment done and my camber is within factory specs i just have to rotate my tires every 3000 miles because my toe is off so project_DC2 i don't know what your talking about!

They will scratch whenever you go over speed bumps. Get a Dremel and cut out about 1.5 in. and use the "cut-out" part to reshape what's left so it will have a stock look.

you got an alignment but your toe-in is off? Time for another alignment. That will wear out tires faster than out-of-spec camber. I have ~2.25 deg. neg. camber w/o a camber kit, but my toe-in is correct and my tire wear is perfectly even. I rotate every 4K-5K miles.

Anyone have any pics of integra's when they are lowered 2" - 2.25" ? Just looking for an approximate example of how low my car will look.

no need to cut them yourself. they will just scrape away by just driving around. soon enough, they don't scrape anymore after they've worn away. my old ones were like that; i replaced them with another set i got for free, so those will be worn soon too.

I don't know for sure exactly how much I'm lowered, but I think it's around 2" or so.

well i was told that my toe in the front would always be off and to counter that to rotate every 3000-4000 miles so my tires would wear evenly

That is not accurate my friend. I suggest looking for an shop that does alignments for autocross/road race.

The only reason I can think of as to why it would "always" be off is if you had damaged suspension and/or frame components, damaged past the point of simply adjusting the tie-rod ends to get the toe-in to within spec. Has the car ever been wrecked?
