I was looking for a front lip for my car. So I called a local Acura dealer. So I ask the Parts guy if they have a front lip for my 2001 Integra LS. He says he doesn't know what a front lip is. Um...okay. So I explain to him that it's infront of the car under the bumper. Then he asks me if it's the front spoiler I'm looking for. I said yes. Okay. He says he can't find it and asks for my VIN number to see if he can find it. Why does he need my VIN number??? You can tell the guy was having a bad day by the way he spoke. Anyway, I ended up saying nevermind to him and I hung up. I called a second Acura dealer, and this time the Parts guy was all cool. He was polite. He said he had two in stock...but both were red. I told him I didn't mind since I'll be painting my car in the future so I'll just put the lip on before I paint it.

Here is my question. When I get the car to get painted, will they take out the front lip and have it painted on the part where it meets with the car or just on the exterior? And when they paint the car, do they take out the old paint also? Or just paint over the old paint? Thanks.

 

Any real shop will strip the paint before painting over it. Theyll paint the lip seperately from the car as well.
