flywheel question
bout to get a gsr swap and was wondering if instead of gettin a aftermarket flywheel or should i just get my gsr FW and get it trimmed down and a machine shop????? is there a real big difference for my buck?

definitely get a lighter flywheel, you will love the difference depending on how light you want to go. shaving off weight off the stock flywheel isnt the best idea, but if you insist on doing it i believe you can do 3-4lbs 'safely.' i purchased my brand new spoon lightweight fw for $300. search around and you will find good deals on brand new flywheels saving yourself a headache and major complications down the road.

I have a 94 LS and I got a XACT Prolite flywheel (8.8lbs) for $275. I will NEVER go back!! Suggestion though, I heard of bad things happening with aluminum flywheels, like shattering...that's why I went with XACT, it's a chromoly flywheel. check this video out that I made of my car accelerating out of 2nd gear...

i think optix meant shaving down the stock flywheel under 12 lbs. will cause it to be unstable not aftermarket ones
