Default fixed ticket

Does anyone know how much it cost to get a license plate? got pulled over last nite cuz the front one was missing, and then he said "i m not gonna give u a ticket for muffler, but I am not sure about other officers......"
i thought they never care about people drive with their car uninsured, unless they cause accident, and I finally realized that it is still LEGAL to drive and talk on the phone at the same time.

Driving uninsured is illegal and STUPID.

People like that cause accidents and leave people like me having to pay an arm and a leg to fix a car that they smashed up.

I don't see how someone without insurance is more likely to cause an accident. I guess you could even argue the other way around saying that because they don't have insurance, they'd be extra careful driving around because any damages they cause will have to be paid out of pocket...theirs. Not having insurance is stupid, yes, but that doesn't make them bad drivers, just stupid ones. Besides, I thought any damages they cause would have to be paid by them in full, and the courts would reposses their belongings if they are short of funds. Am I wrong?

I know several people who drive without insurance, and they are a long way from being "extra careful". If you're the kind of person that makes a dumb decision about insurance, then you probably also make dumb decisions when driving or doing other things. Insurance does cost a lot more than it should, but it would be financially devastating to end up having to pay for thousands or more of damages myself. But, if you want to screw yourself, then go ahead... Just stay the f*** away from my car.

True, I do agree that people who drive without insurance for any reason are stupid. Insurance, like car maintenance, should be factored into the cost of driving/owning a car. If you cannot afford EVERYTHING it takes toy keep your car on the road, then don't drive. I just wanted to make the disctinction between being stupid and being a bad driver. You'd think they'd be one and the same, but not always. In any case, I do agree with you on the absurdity of the price of insurance, but do not in any way condone forgoing it because of financial or any other reasons.
